This event marked a turning point for Browder, shifting his focus from investment to activism.
Passing Legislation: The Magnitsky Act
Browder’s determination to hold those responsible accountable for Magnitsky’s death led him to campaign tirelessly across the globe. His efforts culminated in the passing of the Magnitsky Act in Canada in 2017, which allows countries to impose sanctions on foreign individuals involved in human rights abuses or significant corruption.
